I am really insulted by this?

Today my teacher said that it was time for us all to read. I stood up and went over to the bookshelf to choose out a book for myself. While I was there, this guy in my class that I thought was really nice came over and pulled out a book from the bookshelf. He held the book up so I could see it and said "is this you?" while pointing to the picture of a Jewish girl on the cover on a book about the Holocaust. As you have probably already guessed, I am Jewish. Should I be insulted? Should I ignore him from now on?
