Resolved Question
Is this how guys normally act, or am I misreading (sorry for stereotyping a bit)?
I'm a freshman in college and I'm not attractive. I'm not fat, I don't have acne, glasses, or anything like that, but I just have plain features. Usually, when I talk to guys, I feel like they don't want to talk to me and want to start talking to someone else. For example, when I was at someones house, a guy said hi to me without smiling and then saw my friend, who is really pretty, and started a long conversation, asking her lots of questions. Also, I feel like I can't talk to guys normally without them thinking that I'm flirting, maybe because I smile a lot in general.
These are generalizations and there's a few exceptions, but these things seem to happen to me a lot. I'm also very shy, so forgive me for sounding so socially awkward in this question.
