Resolved Question

Besides shyness, are there any other reasons why someone might not like attention?

Because I don't really like attention. I wouldn't call myself shy...except in circumstances like talking to the guy I like or public speaking (which I think is pretty common lol). I am introverted though...and I'm not sure why, but I don't like attention. I purposely try to blend in. For example, I hated living in a small town when I was a teen because I had a distinct identity there that everyone knew me by. Another example is when I achieve something, I don't like getting attention for it. There have been a couple instances where someone wanted to recognize me for an accomplishment I had done and I really hated the attention...

I can't seem to figure out why this is myself, so I was wondering if there were theories in psychology that could help me figure this out. I am not shy in talking to people because there's no anxiety or fear there...so I don't think shyness explains it. Or maybe I'm shy just when it comes to attention?
