Where to meet teenage girls in NYC?

I recently entered college. I didn't really have much luck meeting girls in my high school for dating. The girls really just weren't my type. I thought I would have a wider range of girls in college however, it seems like its the same. So, where can I meet more girls in NYC that are my age? What activities can I involve myself with? What job would allow me to meets girls ages from 17-18 range? Or anything of that sort...
