Why do Republicans seem to always put themselves on the worst side of every single issue!?

Now it's Romney against Planned Parenthood, which I understand is about 5% abortions and something like 80% screening women for breast cancer and other non-abortion related medical issues. So, now the interpretation is Romney is against women. And breast cancer has no party affiliation!! There now are Republican and Independent women who will NOT vote for Romney and will tell their husbands and boyfriends to NOT vote for Romney in the general election.
