which school do you think is better? which school has smarter students?

Supposedly, it depends on what you want to study. However, I'd choose Princeton for undergraduate study. The classes are smaller and undergraduate education is a high priority at Princeton.

It depends on the degree you are seeking. There are schools all over the country that are the best in a particular discipline.

There is no line between which is a "better" school. Those that are interested in engineering would prefer to go to MIT. Many that like math and are profiecient in math choose MIT over Harvard, while those that want to seek careers in law, medicine, or other tend to go to Harvard. There is no distinction between which school has "smarter" kids because to students of these school tend to excel in different areas and have different interests.
