I want a cat, but I'm allergic?

For most of my life (I'm 14) I've been allergic to cats. I got an allergy test a couple weeks ago thinking that my allergies may have gone away as I have spent the night many times at friend's homes that have cats, cuddled and played with cats, etc. and never had a reaction. When I was younger I had two cats that I never showed any reaction to either. My allergy test, however, still said that I was very allergic to cats (a 4 out of 5, 5 being the most allergic and 1 being the least). I was wondering if there is a reason behind my lack of allergic reaction and if, despite the allergy tests, there would be any way to get a cat.
