Is there a way i can get my gpa up?

i wanna start school cause i just finish hs and i left with a 2.8 gpa is there any way i can brink my gpa up or how can i please help i don't know what to do i wanna go to the university put i don't know if community college let you take classes so you can bring your gpa or how does it work
