What do they want from me?

i am applying for a college-hosted free summer internship for the math/sciences.

However, I received poor-ish grades the past years in those subjects (they are not my strongest classes.)

I AM interested in those subjects, though, and in the application part I have to write why I'd be an ideal candidate for their camp.

Do you have any ideas as to what they'd be searching for?
