How to get rid of an odor?

My dads feet smell all the time. Its an awful stench. Earlier I couldn't stand it ..while he was asleep I rubbed gold bond odorveaters powder on his feet and spread it evenly followed by sented lotion. It only worked for like an hour and the smell returned. I don't want to have to massage his feet again the fat and ugly. I felt like the foot rub was my most effective idea. Any other suggestion?
