Trade with China (Project help?!)?

In the last 20 years China’s economy has experienced rapid growth. Since China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001, the increase of exports and imports between China and the U.S. has more than tripled. The U.S. Commerce Department reports that China is the United States’ largest import partner. With this increase in trade has also come a growing concern over product quality and safety as well as copyright issues. Both China and the U.S. recognize the many benefits of continuing and developing this trade relationship. They also recognize the importance of U.S. consumer confidence in Chinese products. As a representative of the U.S. International Trade Administration you have been asked to research the background of the various trade concerns with China and the actions that both countries are taking to increase product safety and quality. You will need to summarize your findings and give your recommended next steps in an official memo to be submitted to members of Congress.

^Thats my assignment. I did research and just found information on exampls of poor quality of Chinese product. What are your opinions, and what steps do you think should be taken?
